I tried getting into NFL a couple of seasons back and one thing that really stuck out for me was from 32 Quarterbacks only a handful were black, 6 maybe?
Now I know fuck all about the sport, as I lost interest pretty sharpish. But it did get me thinking why?

Wasn't Sherwood on the staff at Spurs and initially came in as a caretaker when Villas Boas got the sack?
He then got it full time as he did well.

A very valid point you make. It's the total opposite in football from general every day jobs as well. I been beaten many a time at an interview by a young whippersnapper with no experience for that job but you don't really see that in football. As you say it seems experience, good or bad, is what it's all about.

Yorke should try going for a lower league job instead of trying to make the Aston Villa job as his first appointment. Unbelievalble, Villa went for a white man, no they didn't they went for someone with years of experience and they have drawn and won his first two games.
That's the problem with all former professional they all think they are entitled to manage top jobs, fuck all to do with colour of your skin. Look at Sherwood, no experience but got Spurs and Villa jobs, based on what, nothing much. Funnily enough he isnt in the frame for anything at the moment because he is a bit shit not because he is black or white

Keith Alexander is a good example, started off in non league, got up to the pro leagues, never ripped up any trees but was still given jobs as he had experience.
I just can't see how on earth anyone thinks a chairman would avoid someone who they thought was the best man for the job who had come up through the leagues, because of his colour. It's bordering on mental to think that.
